Redcloud Peak 14,037' - Colorado's 46th highest peak

Given Ricardo had some work in this corner of the state, we opted to do a spring ascent of Redcloud and Sunshine Peaks after he was finished. There was a good weather window for this round-trip 11.5 mile hike, with nearly 4,500 vertical feet gained. We encountered some snow on the ascent and along the ridge connecting Redcloud and Sunshine.

After topping out on Redcloud, the weather started to turn and it snowed on us. However, we still opted to go for the summit of Sunshine, as there wasn't any storm activity. We had a wonderful time getting these two peaks, which marked Ulyana's 52nd and 53rd of Colorado's 100 highest. Ricardo's first ascents of these peaks were in the summer, on August 7, 2003.
