Longs Peak 14,255' - Colorado's 15th highest peak Last ascent (Ricardo) August 30th, 2018
Ricardo's 1st ascent: August 8, 1996
Ulyana's 1st ascent August 7, 2011
13 miles, 5100 vertical feet gain
Ricardo has done Longs Peak more than 30 times via three different routes. He has done it in every season, but the latest was his fastest ascent with a time of 3 hrs. 27 mins, and round-trip times of 6 hours and 1 minute. His 1st ascent was on August 8, 1996 and it took him almost 12 hours round trip! Ever since then, he likes to do at least one yearly ascent to assess conditioning since this is a good challenging ascent with lots of miles and some rock scrambling. Ulyana's 1st ascent was with her friend, Teresa, shortly after she moved to Colorado to begin her PhD studies. |

SUMMITS: Longs Peak Speed Ascent Trip Report
Please note that the Relive app which was used to capture this video was not able to be started until more than 3 miles into the ascent. That's why you will notice the route starts in the middle of the mountain. The starting point was obviously the same as the ending point since this was a one day ascent.
