Ebright Azimuth 448' - Delaware's highest point November 17, 2018
For our 5th state high point in 5 days we flew from Atlanta, Georgia to Philadelphia, PA, rented a car and drove to the classic Philly Cheesesteak restaurant: Jim's Steaks where we met with our friend and fellow climber Demetrius Angelo. Demetrius has done a lot of mountaineering and rock climbing in the US as well as some high altitude expeditions but he had never "conquered" the highest "mountain" in Delaware :-) which is very close to where he lives in Philadelphia.
After enjoying some delicious Philly Cheesesteaks, we drove about a half hour to Wilmington, Delaware. We parked about a mile before we reached our destination so we could at least walk a couple of miles to get this "summit". We managed to walk 1.8 miles to enjoy this highpoint. Out of all the USA state highpoints only Florida is lower than this one! We took this opportunity to also drive to Washington D.C. to visit Ulyana's brother and his family and to get the extra credit highpoint of the District of Columbia. The final challenge in this 6 highpoint tour in 5 days was the drive at night back to Philadelphia. It was a lot of driving but the visit with family and our night walking tour of DC was a great ending to our Southern Tour. Rosalinda flew back to Austin, Texas the next morning and Uly and Ricardo flew back to Denver, Colorado. States highpoint rank: 49th |

SUMMITS: Extra Credit: High Point of the District of Columbia
The capital of the United States: Washington is in the District of Columbia (thus the initials in Washington DC). This district is not considered one of the 50 states in the USA so it's not on our list of state highpoints. This is why we call it an "extra credit" summit.
